The Moulin Rouge: La Goulue 3-sheet lithograph is an exact recreation of the famous poster by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Created in 1891, this poster was Lautrec's first attempt at lithography and it made quite an impression as the 3000 copies circulated around Paris mesmerizing the public with the " eye-catching design, bold colors, and innovative, Japanese-inspired use of silhouettes."
The focus of the lithograph are two of Lautrec's favourite subjects: the famous Moulin Rouge dancers, La Goulue and her partner, the flexible "No-Bones" Valentin.
This 1998 recreation is by chromist, Jean Pierre-Remond using the hand pulled method, and the finest quality inks, on an antique German Dufa printing press. It's printed on Coventry cotton paper and comes with a certificate of authenticity by S2 Art Group, Ltd.
